Some of you may have seen that our
fine editor, Samhita Arni has been on a sabbatical from Out of Print. And you
may have wondered why. Her piece in First Post will give you some sense of what
drew her full attention. Written in response to the horrific killing of
Sushmita Banerji, Samhita gives her perspective on life in Afghanistan.
The pace and intensity of Kabul comes
vividly alive as she highlights the differences between her experience and what
she supposes Sushmita's was, bringing to us a sense of the intoxication of the
country and what it was that might have taken Sushmita back there despite the
dangers.
